Work on LSHTM Emergency and Epidemic Data Kit, a platform of tools for use in epidemic response. Skills in R, OpenDataKit & Epidemiology valuable
The post-holder will work on the development of the LSHTM Emergency and Epidemic Data Kit, a platform of tools, protocols and methods that will help researchers to implement electronic data collection and rapid mapping during health emergencies. This project is a collaboration between researchers from the LSHTM Faculties of Infectious and Tropical Diseases, Epidemiology and Public Health as well as the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team.
The successful candidate will hold PhD or equivalent in a relevant area of either epidemiology, computer sciences or similar, have a strong and proven background in the use of data science in epidemiology, be a highly competent user of the R package for statistical computing, have experience of using electronic tools in field studies and will be able to think fast, solve problems and work well under pressure. Specific experience in epidemiological work during epidemics and of having used tools such as Open Data Kit, Survey CTO and LimeSurvey would be highly desirable.
