We are looking for a Research Fellow to design, implement and analyse a large-scale post-pandemic contact survey (POLYMOD2) in the UK
The pandemic saw major changes in contact patterns that affected the spread of many infectious diseases. Some of the changes (such as working from home) appear to be long-lasting. It is important that mathematical models reflect this new reality. We are recruiting a Research Fellow to help design and run a large-scale survey of epidemiologically relevant contact patterns in the UK. The data collected will underpin mathematical models of many close-contact diseases. The post involves survey design and statistical analysis. A knowledge of mathematical modelling would be an advantage.
The successful applicant should ideally have a doctoral degree along with experience in epidemiology, statistics, mathematical modelling, or another relevant discipline with a strong quantitative component. Experience in analysing data is essential. A commitment to open science and a record of relevant publications in good journals is desirable.
