The Pathogen Dynamics Group is looking for a part-time Research Assistant to join our infectious disease dynamics team.
The Pathogen Dynamics Group, located within the Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge is looking for a part-time (2 days a week) Research Assistant to join our growing team of researchers doing mathematical, computational and field research in the field of infectious disease dynamics.
The candidate will be responsible for assisting with coordinating activities of domestic and international projects related to dengue and other infectious diseases. It is an exciting opportunity for applicants looking for an introduction to the field of infectious disease dynamics and global health, as the candidate will gain familiarity with substantive aspects of the group's research projects related to pathogen epidemiology, phylogenetics and control policy. Further, there will be opportunities for involvement in work on other diseases, including the opportunity to develop their own research project. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize tasks and manage their time with minimal oversight.
The Pathogen Dynamics Group at the University of Cambridge, headed by Dr. Henrik Salje, uses mathematical, computational and field research to help our understanding of how pathogens spread in populations, assess control efforts and support policy making. We work closely with an established network of collaborators across laboratories, field-based epidemiologists, hospitals and public health agencies.
