Tenure-Track Position in Bordeaux - Data science methods development for infectious diseases. Open project.

The position will strenghten capacities in precision public health. Hosted in the BPH Univ. Bordeaux / Inserm center, the candidate will be integrated in the Precision & Global Vascular Brain Health Institute (France 2030 plan). Topics on infectious diseases are welcome as part of precision medicine. She/he will apply cutting-edge datascience methods to explore complex data (clinical, imaging, genomic and multiomic) from existing cohorts and from a new cohort/bioresource in vascular brain health linked with insurance claims and Bordeaux hospital EHR. Candidates must hold a PhD in epidemiology or biostatistics, extensive expertise in handling large and complex datasets, and present research-based teaching experience to enhance the ISPED school of public health master programs. The position entails multiple collaborations, across BPH/VBHI teams and international.

The candidate must propose an innovative project that:
i) is integrated within a BPH team and aligned with the scientific roadmap of the IHU VBHI, and
ii) is coordinated with other components of the team and interacts with other research groups on-site (within or outside BPH, involved in VBHI).

The project should:
i) leverage large-scale data (molecular, imaging, medico-administrative) and available resources using approaches based on AI, molecular epidemiology, causal inference, therapeutic repositioning, etc., and
ii) contribute to the Impulsion Public Health Data Science Research Network.

The research will aim to strengthen precision public health and population-level cerebral vascular health or infectious diseases by developing and applying innovative analytical approaches. These approaches should enhance the detection and characterization of high-risk populations, identify new mechanisms, and accelerate therapeutic developments.

Although a large about of the project description is directed toward cerebral health, infectious disease modeling application are welcome providing they have a focus toward methods development in data science for large scale data.
