Tenure-track faculty position in the area of Microbial Genomics.
The Department of Internal Medicine within the University of Utah’s School of Medicine seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Microbial Genomics. Candidates with expertise and a research program that would complement the Department’s strengths in antimicrobial resistance, healthcare-associated infections, travel medicine, and gastrointestinal diseases are particularly encouraged to apply. The Department partners with basic and translational researchers in the University-wide Immunology, Inflammation, and Infectious Disease (3i) Initiative, with strong investigative groups in host-pathogen interactions, inflammatory bowel disease, neurologic diseases, global health, and cancer; the University is also a premier academic environment for bioinformatics and data science. In addition, the University is closely affiliated with investigators at ARUP Laboratories (https://www.aruplab.com/about), a premier reference laboratory with extensive microbiologic resources, expertise in diagnostics, and access to clinical samples and isolates.
Qualified candidates must have a MD, DO, and/or PhD, and a research track record that supports an independent research program. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and appointments will include a competitive start-up package.
