Applicants are sought in any area of statistics and data science that complements or extends existing expertise in the Department. Current research themes include computational statistics, uncertainty quantification, design of experiments. Bayesian learning, high-dimensional inference, biostatistics, modelling for longitudinal data and survival data, analysis of epidemiological, medical, and genomic data, the interface between statistics and machine learning, advanced regression models and foundations of deep learning (see https://www.maths.manchester.ac.uk/research/expertise/statistics/ ).
