Postdoc position within the GeoHealth group at KAUST

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Geospatial Statistics and Health Surveillance (GeoHealth) research group led by Dr. Paula Moraga (www.paulamoraga.com) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).

The successful candidate will be involved in the development of spatial and spatio-temporal methods and R packages for mapping and forecasting diseases affected by climate and the environment such as dengue, malaria and neglected tropical diseases. The candidate will interact closely with collaborators in health departments in different countries, and will be provided with generous travel funding for conferences and collaborative work. No teaching duties are required although teaching opportunities may be provided if desired.

The successful candidate should have a PhD in statistics, epidemiology, ecology, or a related quantitative field, as well as excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Experience in spatial statistics, machine learning or spatial epidemiology would be an advantage.
