Senior Scientist, Infectious Diseases
In response to the COVID pandemic, Helix has built one of the nation’s largest COVID diagnostic labs and has been on the forefront of national viral surveillance efforts, tracking Alpha (B.1.1.7), Delta, and other viral strains. In addition to delivering viral sequence data to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we are building analytical tools and dashboards to enable public health institutions and health systems to rapidly track and monitor communicable disease.
We are looking for a quantitative biologist with expertise in virology and infectious diseases to join our team. You will work cross-functionally with our research and bioinformatics teams, performing research using our infectious disease data. You will also work closely with our product and engineering teams to transform the novel insights and methods from this research into tools that can be deployed to health systems and public health institutions to enable better surveillance.
The ideal candidate has an insatiable curiosity, entrepreneurial spirit, enjoys teamwork, and wants to make a difference in viral surveillance in the United States.
