Position Summary
The Pandemic Response Institute (PRI) represents a landmark endeavor operated by ICAP at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in partnership with CUNY School of Public Health and other academic, community, government and corporate partners and supported with resources from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and other donors and supporters. The vision for PRI is to build sustained, cooperative action to prepare, predict, detect, respond and recover from major health threats and to reduce the glaring disparities as noted in association with the experience of the COVID-19 pandemic in the City of New York. The PRI will address the entire lifecycle of emergency preparedness and response by advancing a dynamic set of activities that increase resilience to the adverse consequences of public health emergencies.
The Senior Project Officer (SPO) is a member of a multi-disciplinary core management team that plans, manages, and coordinates implementation of PRI work plans, activities, and initiatives. The SPO plays a number of key roles in support of the development of work plans, activity budgets, reports and analyses as well as agreements necessary to launch, implement and support the work of the Institute.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement work plans, project and activity management plans and monitoring plans to ensure timely and cost-effective implementation of projects and activities (25%)
Develop reports and analyses associated with projects and activities planned and/or implemented through PRI for submission to boards, donors, and supporters of the Institute (25%)
Facilitate the efficient administration of transactions required to support the work of the Institute through systems managed by ICAP, the Mailman School, and Columbia University, as needed (15%)
Coordinate and/or contribute to the preparation, submission and delivery of presentations, summary briefs, and other communications products and documents (10%)
Oversee the development and track the execution of partnership agreement and sub-agreements including scopes, deliverables/expectations, and budgets (10%)
Support and/or lead the establishment and maintenance of relationships and collaborations with PRI partners and collaborators (10%)
Perform other related duties as assigned, in support of the work of the Institute (5%)
