Seeking Data Manager to provide leadership for programming/analytic staff focusing on vaccine research
The Vaccine Study Center (VSC), a department imbedded within the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Division of Research, is seeking a Data Manager to provide leadership for our programming and analytic staff to support a portfolio of studies focused on vaccine research. This position assumes the role of manager for 6 VSC data analysts and provides: 1) day-to-day leadership and direction, 2) data management, programming and analytic expert consultation, and 3) technical assistance and advice to the analysts. Additional tasks include analytic database development, data analysis, quality control, interpretation of results, development or implementation of study tracking systems, development of standards, procedures and policies, generating progress reports, and supporting the PIs and project managers as needed to develop grants, presentations, and publications. The ideal candidate will possess: 1) expert proficiency in SAS and SQL, 2) the ability to perform data transformation and extraction from multiple administrative and clinical records databases, 3) experience with creation, analytical manipulation, and interpretation of large databases, and 4) experience leading and managing other professionals. Experience working with KP data is also strongly preferred. Experience working in R and performing advanced statistical analyses is a plus but not required. This position has a work from home option if desired with some required in-person meetings in Oakland (e.g., possibly once per week).
