Researcher in the field of health economic evaluation
(up to E 14 TVöD, limited term until August 31, 2024)

We are looking for additional staff for our unit 33 "Immunization" in Berlin-Mitte, which is responsible for the surveillance and control of vaccine preventable diseases.
Become part of our department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology in one of the largest German departmental research institutions. We count on you!

Your Tasks

  • Independent implementation of health economic evaluations based on the results of mathematical models, including the COVID-19 vaccination
  • Participation in the project funded by the Federal Ministry of Health to "Estimate the likely effects of a COVID-19 vaccination in Germany and compare different vaccination strategies (ImVaCoV)"
  • Participation in the project "Effects of non-pharmaceutical interventions on intra- and post-pandemic disease burden of respiratory infections (RESPINOW)" funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research
  • Within the framework of these two projects, independent research, processing and provision of input data for the models (e.g. from reporting data or healthcare data)
  • Presentation and discussion of the project results at national and international conferences and publication in scientific journals

Your profile

Formal requirements

  • Completed scientific university studies in the field of health economics, public health, epidemiology, economics, statistics or a comparable course (master/university diploma)
  • PhD desired
    In the case of foreign educational qualifications, we require proof of equivalence with a German qualification.

Knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of statistical software (preferably R)
  • Experiences with quantitative analysis of data in health care or in quantitative health care research
  • Knowledge of preparing health economic evaluations of health technologies

Additionally desirable

  • Experiences in the analysis of data on vaccinations or on the provision of vaccinations
  • Experience in the application of dynamic models, eg time series models or differential equation models
  • Experience in the creation of systematic reviews and the implementation of meta-analyses in the field of clinical medicine or epidemiology
  • Experience in preparing scientific publications for peer-reviewed international journals

Other requirements

  • Language skills (CEFR level): German at least B1 and English at least C1
