Research Scientist IV / Statistician Modeler at California Department of Public Health

Responsibilities for this position include: Evaluates COVID-19 related interventions to guide intervention development and implementation. Estimates the potential epidemiologic effectiveness of various interventions utilized thus far in the response using modeling methods. Leverage county level simulation models to estimate the individual and collective effectiveness of NPI policies for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. Estimate cost, cost-effectiveness and budget impact of various interventions and policies at scale. Create integrated health and economic datasets that can be used, along with place-based vulnerability indices, to present fuller context for burden of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases and impact of interventions.

There is particular interest for this position in candidates with expertise in agent-based modeling for various behavioral and economic interventions for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

Please note that this position requires a Ph.D. or M.D. and residency within the state of California (although work can currently be done remotely within California). Please also note that eligibility is dependent on completion of the relevant state civil service exam for Research Scientist IV (Epidemiology/Biostatistics).
