Research Project Coordinator for Oxford-Uganda Collaboration on Schistosomiasis
This role is an exciting opportunity for a Research Coordinator to join an international partnership that is employing multi-disciplinary approaches for the study of schistosomiasis—a disease of poverty. You will join an enthusiastic research team, working with epidemiologists, parasitologists, mathematicians, machine learning scientists, laboratory technicians, field assistants, health practitioners/policymakers, and global health ethicists. In Oxford, we are a team of approximately 10 people including postdoctoral researchers and students. In Uganda, we have a team of around 100 people including the Ugandan PIs, research manager, surveyors, nurses, technicians, clinicians, malacologists, sonographers, ethicists, and community health workers.
We are seeking an experienced and well-organised individual with a strong interest in scientific research and quality control (need not have an academic background), and prior experience of research or programme administration, to coordinate, manage and facilitate the expansion of our research programme and to promote the sustainability and long-term outlook of the cohort within the Uganda Ministry of Health and the University of Oxford. The candidate must have experience working with/within low-income countries. The candidate will report directly to the study PI, Associate Professor Goylette Chami.
The post is fixed term for 1 year in the first instance and full time (part-time considered).
Informal enquires are encouraged and should be addressed to Dr Goylette Chami (Goylette.chami@ndph.ox.ac.uk).
Applications for this vacancy should be made online and you will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your application.
