Research Fellows working on spatial statistical models of population distributions and demographics to support epidemiological/health applications.

The WorldPop programme (www.worldpop.org), based at the University of Southampton, is seeking to recruit up to 2-3 Research Fellows and / or Senior Research Fellows to assist with spatial demographic analyses in a number of low/middle-income countries around the world. We require enthusiastic statistical analysts to work on high resolution predictive mapping of population distributions and demographics based on household survey, census and bespoke survey data, along with high-resolution geospatial covariate data layers. The work will be foundational to collaborative work with organizations such as UNFPA and GAVI, and feed into programs such as GRID3 (www.grid3.org), which WorldPop is a core partner in. The outputs will be used by governments as a basis for activities such as vaccination delivery planning, routine healthcare planning and census preparations. As well as joining the vibrant and well-connected WorldPop team, the post-holder will lead high-impact publications.
