We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow – Epidemiologist in Emerging Infections to join the Epidemic Diseases Research Group Oxford (ERGO), in the Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM).

Reporting to and supported by the Head of Vaccine Research in ERGO, you will undertake epidemiologically-based research into priority outbreak diseases. There is scope and flexibility to take the work in a number of directions, led by your own interests. You will manage own academic research and administrative activities which involves small scale project management, coordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You also will adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques, as well as test hypothesis and analyse scientific data.

It is essential that you hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in a relevant field such as biostatistics, infectious disease epidemiology, epidemic modelling, clinical science, vaccinology. You will have a good working knowledge in infectious disease epidemiology including an understanding of vaccine evaluation, as well has have an appreciation of health research or health services practice in low and middle income countries. You will be self motivated, with ability to manage time and priorities, as well as have excellent communication skills including the ability to write for publication.
