Research Assistant to develop a model of HIV-HPV co-transmission (masters or PhD level)
The Population Health Modeling group is looking for a full-time research assistant to develop a model of HIV-HPV co-transmission!

The successful applicant, working under the supervision of Dr. Mathieu Maheu-Giroux at McGill University, will develop a mathematical model of HIV and HPV co-transmission, parameterize it using relevant data sources, and carefully calibrate it to epidemiological and programmatic data. Additional responsibilities include preparation of abstracts, presentations, technical documents, and manuscripts. The post holder will work closely with a team of collaborators at Imperial College London, Université Laval, and the University of Witwatersrand.
Tasks
• Calibrate an agent-based model of HIV-HPV co-transmission.
• Simulate different interventions scenarios (e.g., screening, vaccination).
• Coordinate collaborations with McGill, Laval, Witwatersrand, and Imperial College London.
• Present findings in publications and conferences.
Key profile characteristics
• Master’s or doctoral degree.
• Previous experience with infectious disease modeling.
• Knowledge of Bayesian statistics, cluster computing, and health economics preferred.
• Strong programming skills (R and C++).
• Prior knowledge of HIV and HPV is an asset.
• Excellent command of written English.
• Positive attitude and interpersonal skills.
• Superior multi-tasking and organizational abilities.
