Research Assistant or Research Fellow working on health impacts modelling and climate change
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated researcher with experience in mathematical modelling to join the Evidence for Policy Action on Climate Change and Health project. The successful candidate will join an exciting, interdisciplinary programme of work to build the evidence base for a Planetary Health approach to health policy making in sub-Saharan Africa. The tasks include development of a health impacts model and to contribute to a review on climate-related impacts on health in Kenya. The allocation of duties in post will be dependent on the candidate’s skill set, experience, and interest in modelling. The post provides the opportunity to interact with and contribute to the work of the LSTHM Centre on Climate Change and Planetary Health, of which this project is a part of.
The successful candidate will be expected to have knowledge of or training in epidemiology, public health, environmental epidemiology, or a related subject and be able to work across disciplines. Other essential criteria include experience in literature reviews and evidence syntheses and strong quantitative skills and interest and experience in using computer programming languages (in particular, R). Further particulars are included in the job description.
