Research Assistant or Associate in Mathematical Modelling - HIV - HSV - HPV
We are seeking an experienced mathematical modeller with experience in statistical data analysis and systematic reviews to contribute to project focusing on understanding the spread and the prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STI). The research program looks into the development and application of mathematical and computational models using the best data to assess the impact of biomedical (e.g. HIV treatment, PrEP) and structural (e.g. decriminalisation of sex work, reduction of stigma and violence) HIV interventions as well as the impact of vaccination against STI in different risk populations and settings.
Depending on expertise, the post holder will be asked to lead and/or contribute to one or more mathematical modelling projects on HSV-2, HPV and HIV vaccination and elimination in resource limited settings (e.g. South Africa, Brazil), partly funded by WHO and NIH.
Applicants should have a quantitative MSc (for appointment to Research Assistant) or quantitative PhD (for appointment to Research Associate) or equivalent in one of the following areas: infectious disease modelling, ecology, population biology, mathematics, statistics, theoretical physics, computer science or a similarly quantitative discipline.
This post is full time and fixed term until 23 August 2019 and will be based at the St Mary’s Campus, Paddington.
