The post-holder will work on methods to make, assess and aggregate nowcasts and forecasts of the epidemiology of Covid-19 in the short, medium and long term.

Part of the work will build on existing research in on real-time modelling of Covid-19 (see http://epiforecasts.io/covid and https://cmmid.github.io/topics/covid19/), and the post-holder will contribute to the development and refinement of methods to model the spread of SARS-CoV-2. Another, related part of the work will involve developing a European forecasting platform akin to the existing CDC forecast hub in the US (https://covid19forecasthub.org/) and analysing the performance of the forecasts generated.
