Research assignment
• We are looking for a colleague who conducts research in mathematical epidemiology with a focus on developing and applying stochastic models for the spread of COVID-19 and other human-to-human infectious diseases. To this end, you work together with various (inter)national partners.
• We are looking for someone who does research in mathematical epidemiology with a focus on network methodology to study the spread of monkeypox, among other things. To this end, you work together with various (inter)national partners.

Teaching assignment
There is an opportunity to provide education within the various courses offered within the Master in Statistics and Data Science, or in the supervision of master's theses and doctoral students.

Profile

• You have obtained a PhD in statistics, mathematics or equivalent.
• You have demonstrable scientific experience in data-driven research and you have published in international scientific journals.
• You are collegial, you can work well in a team and you show commitment.
• You are fluent in written and oral communication.
• Demonstrable experience in spatial epidemiology is an advantage.
• A demonstrable experience in preparing and acquiring scientific funding at national/international level is an advantage.

Offer
We offer an appointment as an expert researcher for 2 years.
