Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Applied Mathematics and Statistics

Salary: £32,348 to £42,155, with potential progression once in post to £44,737

The School of Mathematics welcomes applications for a Research Fellowship in Applied Mathematics and Statistics to work with Dr Panayiota Touloupou and Dr Joaquin M. Prada (University of Surrey) on the Task Force for Global Health funded project "Efficient post-elimination surveillance strategies for Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)". The post-holder will be involved in the development of statistical methods for optimizing NTD diagnostics and sampling strategies for low-prevalence settings, as part of a collaboration with scientists at Lancaster University (Dr Emanuele Giorgi, Dr Claudio Fronterre and Prof Peter Diggle) and leading experts in the World Health Organization and Task Force for Global Health.
The post is available for a period of 12 months. Applicants should have a PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology or related areas awarded or submitted at the time of taking up the position, a strong record of research and publications and familiarity with mathematical or statistical modelling or epidemiology.
