Postdoctoral positions in epidemiology

The Rohani lab has two positions available for postdoctoral fellows, who will be based at the Odum School of Ecology and the Department of Infectious Diseases at the University of Georgia. The first position is aimed at developing models for pertussis transmission to explore the dynamics of asymptomatic carriage and examine the evidence for this mechanism in cohort studies and epidemiological data. The second position is flexible and may involve any of the ongoing projects in the lab, including avian influenza evolution, disease forecasting, mumps epidemiology or some other mutually agreed upon topic. Candidates interested in this flexible position should indicate their preferred topic or provide a brief description of their proposed research in their application materials.

The successful candidates will have excellent quantitative and computational skills, preferably with some background in epidemiology or population biology. These positions are funded for two years, with the possibility of renewal. The salary will be in the range $50K-60K, depending on experience.

Interested candidates should send a letter of inquiry and CV with 3 references to Pej Rohani (rohani@uga.edu)
