Postdoctoral position in modeling of infectious disease dynamics

The Ndeffo Lab has a position available for a postdoctoral fellow, who will be based at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University. The position focuses on data-driven modeling of infectious disease dynamics. Individuals with a demonstrated interest in infectious disease dynamics and with training in mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, or any other quantitative background are strongly encouraged to apply, as are individuals with training in epidemiology, or disease ecology.

Research projects will address important and timely questions in public and global health. Potential projects may focus on vaccine preventable diseases (e.g. Influenza, Pertussis, Rubella), vector-borne diseases, neglected tropical diseases, or other basic and applied topics in infectious disease epidemiology. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative, computational, and writing skills demonstrated by past productivity including publications and/or other scientific and technical output.

Review of applications will begin immediately, and the position will remain open until filled. The expected start date is flexible. Initial funding for the position is available for 2 years. A competitive salary will be commensurate with experience. The position comes with a standard benefits package available at Texas A&M University. Cost of living in College Station, TX, is relatively low with no state income taxes.
