Postdoctoral position in mathematical modeling of infectious disease epidemiology
The Ndeffo Lab has a position available for a postdoctoral fellow, who will be based at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University. The position focuses on mathematical and computational modeling of infectious disease epidemiology. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced candidate to join our research team.
Research projects will address important and timely questions in public and global health. Potential projects may focus on COVID-19 modeling, macro-parasitic diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases, or other applied topics in infectious disease epidemiology. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative, computational, and communication skills demonstrated by past productivity including publications and/or other scientific and technical output. The candidate should have prior research experience with developing data-driven compartmental (deterministic and/or stochastic) models with Bayesian inference methods, or individual-based (agent-based) models, strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages (MATLAB, Mathematica, R, Python), and Ability to work independently and execute research projects with minimal supervision.
