Job Description:
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship (PDF) at the Agent-Based Modelling Laboratory (ABM-Lab) and Laboratory for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (LIAM), York University. The successful candidate will lead a major role in multi-institutional projects, involving industry partners in vaccine domain. The research will use statistical and computational modelling tools involving large databases related to infectious disease epidemiology, with an immediate focus on cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, cost-benefit, and cost-opportunity analyses of vaccination. Under the supervision of Professor Seyed M Moghadas Laboratory (ABM-Lab) and Professor Jianhong Wu (LIAM), the successful applicant will collaborate with investigators from a network of internationally recognized researchers with critical expertise in modelling infectious disease and evaluating public health interventions and programs.
Requirements:
• Applicants should have relevant knowledge and experience in the health economics of vaccination programs, mechanistic modelling, and programming in at least one of the following languages: Julia, R, Python.
• Evidence of independent and leading roles, including publications in high-impact journals, is required.
• Applicants must be within four years of having completed their PhD in a field relevant to the position (e.g., applied mathematics, statistics, health economics, computational epidemiology).
Terms of Employment:
• The initial appointment will be for one year, and the salary range will be $62,000 to $72,000 CDN (including benefits), commensurate with the candidate's experience.
• Extension of the position is contingent upon satisfactory performance and productivity with measurable outcomes.
• The expected start of the position is July 1, 2024, or soon after that.
