Postdoctoral fellow in Spatio-temporal dynamics of antimicrobial resistance in animals
Subject area description
In the Health Geography Group led by Thomas Van Boeckel, we have an interest in the spatio-temporal dynamics of disease with a focus antimicrobial resistance. We conduct global, and regional analysis of the distribution of drug use, and drug-resistant pathogens. Our work aims to generate evidence to guide policies to curb antimicrobial resistance around the world.
Duties
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with background in infectious disease modeling, population biology, applied mathematics or game theory. The work will focus on the simulation of coordinated international interventions between countries to reduce antimicrobial resistance. The ideal candidate will also bring his/her own research questions to develop in the broad field of disease dynamics. The successful candidate will work independently (i) to run epidemics simulations (ii) conduct sensitivity analysis, (iii) conduct parameter inference.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for employing teaching staff are set out in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and in the Appointment Procedure for Teaching Posts at the University of Gothenburg.
