Postdoctoral associate working on vaccine study design with Dr. Natalie Dean and team at Emory University
This position will provide the opportunity to develop innovative approaches to the design and analysis of vaccines targeting emerging infectious diseases. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Natalie Dean on methods for randomized clinical trials and observational studies for vaccines. The successful candidate will also be welcome to pursue independent research topics of mutual interest. The successful candidate will contribute to an active and collaborative multi-institution team at Emory, University of Florida (Prof. Ira Longini, Dr. Yang Yang, Dr. Matt Hitchings), Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Prof. M. Elizabeth Halloran), and Northeastern University (Prof. Alessandro Vespignani). Methods developed over the course of this project will inform vaccine evaluation strategies for infectious diseases such as chikungunya, Ebola, Zika, and COVID-19.

Applicants with, or nearing completion of, a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, or a related field will be considered. The ideal applicant will have experience in biostatistics and/or epidemiology and an interest in quantitative infectious disease research in global settings. Proficiency in R is required. The applicant must have strong written and oral communication skills, and documented evidence of their ability to work independently and as part of a team.
