Postdocs available in disease ecology, vector-borne disease, and global change.

The Mordecai lab at Stanford University has multiple NIH-funded postdoctoral positions available to study environmental drivers of vector-borne diseases. Project topics are flexible and include questions related to the impacts of climate change, species interactions, and land use change on zoonotic and vector-borne diseases. We use a variety of mathematical, statistical, and data science tools as well as experimental and genomic approaches to investigate the complex and nonlinear systems that encompass vector-borne diseases. The postdocs will have broad latitude to develop research projects in collaboration with the PI and lab members.

Candidates with strong quantitative skills and backgrounds in ecology, evolution, or infectious disease biology are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be independent, highly motivated problem solvers who communicate well and enjoy working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. We work to foster a collaborative, supportive, diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for scientific and personal growth, and seek candidates who will positively contribute to this environment.

The start date is flexible. The initial appointment will be for two years (with the second year contingent upon adequate progress in the first year), and further extension is possible.
