Postdoc position at ENVT-INRAE, Toulouse, France - Unravelling drivers of antimicrobial prescription in the livestock sector

The French Agricultural Research Institute (INRAE) and the National Veterinary School of Toulouse (ENVT) are actively seeking for one highly motivated post doctoral candidate to work on antimicrobial prescription practices in the veterinary sector. This position builds on the H2020 ROADMAP project, which analyses the socio-economic drivers of antimicrobial usage (AMU) and develops tailored strategies for change within a transdisciplinary and multi-actor perspective. The objective of the post-doctoral position is to analyze sociological drivers influencing veterinarians’ attitudes and practices regarding prescription of antimicrobials in animal health production.
The fellow will be in charge of collecting and analyzing data using mainly a qualitative methodology (content analysis from semi-structured interviews), and will be expected to prepare research manuscripts and presentations. The fellow is encouraged to develop his/her own research questions within the scope of the project, and may be involved in future grant writing.
This position is ideally suited to people with a PhD in epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline. Special consideration will be given to those with prior experience on the use of qualitative methods in animal health and/or work in transdisciplinary projects. A team spirit and proficiency in academic writing and oral communication would be advantageous. Knowledge of French is not required, but would be appreciated. A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
