Postdoc opportunity - Ecology of emerging pathogens

The Drake lab at the University of Georgia (http://daphnia.ecology.uga.edu/drakelab/) is seeking a Postdoc to contribute to ongoing work focusing on the ecology of emerging pathogens. Specific topics of interest include (but are not limited to) emergence and transmission of arboviruses, factors relating to the spillover of zoonotic diseases from animal reservoirs, evolution and spread of antimicrobial resistance, risk analysis for emerging diseases of livestock, and the development of quantitative systems for disease forecasting. This position will be expected to lead the development and execution of a quantitative research project in his/her area of expertise. Research methodology may include dynamical systems modeling, stochastic processes, simulation, computational statistics, geostatistics, and/or machine learning. This position will be expected to prepare research plans, perform research including data analysis, draft both internal and external reports on the performed research, and prepare manuscripts for publication to peer reviewed journals.
