Postdoc mathematical modelling / epidemiology for priority diseases in Europe
The post holder will work with Dr Joaquin Prada and European partners to develop epidemiological models for priority diseases in Europe as part of an EU funded project under the EU Partnership for Animal Health and Welfare (https://www.eupahw.eu/). In particular, you will develop and integrate models to estimate the economic consequences of selected diseases for which estimates of disease costs are not well established, with a focus on disease surveillance and control.
In the role, you will take responsibility for data analysis and statistical and mathematical modelling aspects of the projects, integrating outputs from the teams at the partner institutions. In addition, you will be required to participate in activities in Europe: you will be expected to present your work at conferences and to write publications based on their research findings.
You will have the opportunity to engage with other Research Fellows across the University and other project partners, and to take advantage of training opportunities targeted at early career researchers.
