Postdoc in disease ecology: multi-scale modeling of zoonotic disease dynamics

The Kramer lab at the University of South Florida is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to work on a collaborative project with the Han lab at Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. The postdoctoral associate will lead analyses that examine the relationship between remotely-sensed environmental factors across multiple scales and the risk of zoonotic disease occurrence and transmission on the landscape, with particular emphasis on vector-borne zoonoses.

The applicant should possess proficiency in R, and a record of publication in academic journals. Competitive candidates will have demonstrated experience with using satellite-derived data in ecological contexts; identifying and leveraging novel data sources; applying dynamical models to ecological/epidemiological questions, ideally with vector-borne zoonoses; and eco-informatics and applying machine learning methods to ecological questions. Some proficiency with Python is preferred.
