An exciting opportunity for an experienced researcher to take a permanent role in leading modelling and health economics of the high priority area of antimicrobial resistance, within the HCAI and AMR Modelling and Evaluation Unit, UKHSA. The post will involve the development, coordination and management of AMR and HCAI modelling and economics research to inform policy and decision-making, leading a team of modellers/health economists. The post holder will be expected to play a leading role in strengthening UKHSA's capacity and capabilities in modelling and economics of HCAI and AMR and ensure the provision of robust evidence for public health policy. The post holder is expected to work collaboratively, particularly establishing and maintaining strong links with academic institutions, to develop appropriate evidence to optimise decisions on national disease control policy.

The post is based in the HCAI & AMR Modelling & Evaluation Unit and has the distinct benefit of close links with a strong network of scientific and policy colleagues across UKHSA and external collaborators/partners, including clinicians, epidemiologists, microbiologists and others with internationally recognised HCAI and AMR topic area expertise, as well as with statisticians, modellers and economists with notable track records in the development, application, and publication of innovative methodologies applied to infectious disease control and health protection.
