Pandemic Preparedness and gastrointestinal infection research involving systematic reviews, epidem modelling and qualitative methods.

The successful candidate will mainly work across evidence and pandemic preparedness themes. Pandemic preparedness is led by UEA and evidence theme by Newcastle. The postholder will participate in diverse projects. Methods likely to include systematic reviews, epidemiological studies, modelling and qualitative research. In the first year, in response to request from UK Dept of Health and Social Care, the post holder will research public health impacts of contaminated inland recreational waters. Other projects could include horizon scanning emerging threats from gastrointestinal infections, strategies for preventing the entry of GI infections to UK, and the effectiveness of measures to stop the spread of intestinal infections in child-care settings. Unit director is Prof. Paul Hunter at UEA and UKHSA lead is Prof. Roberto Vivancos.
