Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor

Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 501979), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in artificial intelligence, big data, computer science or a related discipline. They should demonstrate (i) evidence of international recognition and scholarship; (ii) the ability to work across disciplines towards new research initiatives; (iii) a strong track record of high-quality research as indicated by publications and external grants; and (iv) a strong commitment to engage students in inquiry-based learning at postgraduate level.

The appointee will lead an innovative and well-funded research group that is open to interdisciplinary collaboration, with an aim to collate and curate massive, unique data resources and to develop novel, deep, frontier analytics in improving global public health. He/She will teach public health courses relevant to infectious diseases, epidemiology and biostatistics, in addition to supervising junior research staff and students. In the course of career development, the appointee is expected to contribute to the School’s strategic developments in academic and research collaborations locally, regionally and internationally.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
