New vacancy! 2 more Research Software Engineers to join the Epiverse-TRACE initiative at LSHTM
The purpose of these roles is to be part of a new team that will develop free, open-source R software tools for outbreak analytics, to support global preparedness and response. The roles are part of the major new Epiverse-TRACE initiative at LSHTM, a joint collaboration between researchers in London, The Gambia & Colombia, supported by data.org, which builds on previous policy-relevant analysis for outbreaks such as COVID-19 and Ebola within our Centre for Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases (CMMID), and analytics development programmes such as the R Epidemics Consortium and EpiForecasts. Beyond contributions to code, documentation, testing, code reviews, and training, the post holders will ensure that tools are fully integrated in the current software ecosystem and build, when possible, on existing code bases. They will be responsible for implementing the general software engineering vision and strategies outlined by the project’s leadership, and for releasing and maintaining software packages.
