Model spread-surveillance-control of COVID, influenza, and other respiratory viruses; provide quantitative decision-support for public health efforts

The Meyers Lab and UT COVID-19 Consortium at The University of Texas at Austin are immediately seeking outstanding postdoctoral scholars to contribute to modeling the spread, surveillance and control of COVID-19, influenza, and other respiratory viruses, aimed at elucidating epidemiological characteristics and providing quantitative decision-support for public health control efforts at the local, state and national levels.

The researchers will work under the primary supervision and mentorship of Prof. Lauren Ancel Meyers.

We seek candidates with strong quantitative training in one or more of the following areas: (1) modeling of infectious disease dynamics, (2) statistics, machine learning and AI, (3) operations research and optimization. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of infectious disease epidemiology, strong coding skills, and interdisciplinary research experience.

This is a two-year position with opportunity for renewal based on funding. The position will include a full-time benefits package.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and evaluated via an accelerated video interview and decision process.
