Managing Research Scientist - Domestic Health Accounts
IHME has an excellent opportunity for a Managing Research Scientist to join our Resource Tracking - Domestic Health Accounts research team on the Brain Health Initiative project.
The Domestic Health Accounts research team develops research intended to estimate financial and other costs for specific health conditions globally. Research from this team has been published in a wide-set of peer-reviewed journals, presented around the globe, and reported online through an interactive visualization. The Brain Health project will generate social and personal costs for a broad set of health conditions that impact the brain, including neurological, cerebrovascular, and mental health disorders. This project will create a set of direct and indirect impact estimates by country and by condition with the intent to more fully understand the non-health burden of key diseases, compare that burden across countries, and where possible to assess time trends. The research is policy-relevant, with long-term goals to assess what determines different levels of non-health burden for these diseases and the team at a unique moment of expansion in scope. We are looking for someone ready to advance in their career in global health research. As a Managing Research Scientist, you will be a leader on your research team and contribute to research design, analysis, and training and mentoring of junior staff. IHME researchers analyze and produce key estimates for their assigned research team and will assess all available relevant quantitative data – including data tracking spending, costs, education and income, disease prevalence and cause of death – from surveys, vital registration, censuses, literature, registries, and administrative records. Managing Research Scientists play a critical role in supervising and managing research team staff.
