The National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) was set up to strengthen Singapore’s capabilities in infectious disease management and prevention, and is a national leader and a key player in Infectious Diseases. NCID houses clinical services, public health, research, training & education, and community engagement functions. Benchmarked to international standards and best practices for treatment and safety, NCID will enhance Singapore’s ability to effectively manage infectious diseases.

We are looking for:
The Senior Epidemiologist (General ID Epidemiology) in the National Public Health and Epidemiology Unit (NPHEU) under NCID possesses broad expertise in the field of infectious disease epidemiology and is developing in-depth expertise in one or more special area(s) of infectious disease epidemiology.

The job holder is expected to provide epidemiological expertise to design and implementation of local epidemiological studies and surveillance systems, analysis and interpretation of data from both primary and secondary sources. He/she is also expected to involve in communication and/or publication of findings to influence clinical and public health practice or policy relating to infectious diseases of public health concern.

The job holder is expected to supervise and provide guidance to a team of epidemiologists. The team works within multidisciplinary teams of clinicians and non-clinicians, as well as collaborate with both internal and external partners in Singapore and internationally.

In the event of an infectious disease outbreak, the Senior Epidemiologist and Epidemiology team will be involved in the risk assessment, planning investigation and partaking in field work, leading to control and resolution of the outbreak.

Job requirements:
• Advanced degree in Public Health or Epidemiology. First degree in any scientific discipline is desirable
• 5-10 years of experience in epidemiology in a health-related setting such as hospital, public health organisation, academic institution, research institute or ministry of health
