Linking the within- and between- host evolution of chronic viral infections

We are seeking to appoint a highly-motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist with strong quantitative skills to undertake cutting-edge interdisciplinary research at the interface of infectious disease, genomics, evolutionary biology, and epidemiology. The project will focus on chronic viral infections, such as HIV, Hepatitis C virus, and/or Hepatitis B virus, with the ultimate goal of linking processes occurring at the within-host and epidemiology levels. The role comes with a lot of flexibility, and can involve mathematical modelling, the evolutionary analysis of sequence data, and/or the development of new analytical methods. The post is for 18 months (FTE) in the first instance, with funding available for a further 18 month extension.
