Kutztown University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position with a preference for epidemiology

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 9,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Biology at Kutztown University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track quantitative biology faculty position with a preference for epidemiology to begin Fall 2019. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Required: a Ph.D. in biology, epidemiology, or a related field completed before appointment, and two years of college-level teaching or equivalent. Successful interview and demonstration of relevant ability required. Salary competitive. The successful applicant will have research expertise focusing on health-related problems and will be expected to teach a general course in epidemiology, other courses that support our Allied-Health and Pre-Med programs, and non-majors' courses. Ability to teach anatomy and physiology, and research methods courses preferred. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a research program that incorporates undergraduates. Experience mentoring and advising Pre-medical/Allied Health students is highly desirable.
