Infectious Disease Modeler (Research Scientist IV) at California Department of Public Health
Serves as a lead infectious disease modeler for the multidisciplinary Modeling Team. Duties include conceiving, planning, and conducting highly specialized and complex modeling data analysis to support planning as part of both emergency and programmatic response. These models and analyses include but are not limited to nowcasting informed by various data streams, forecasts for disease outcomes, and scenario modeling to estimate the effects of interventions, including those influenced by health equity considerations.
Provides guidance and technical support for the design, development, and implementation of advanced modeling
including compartmental and agent-based models at local, regional, and state scales; Acts as subject matter expert for the Department in modeling and advanced analytic topics that fall under the porfolio of this position.

Please note that this position requires a Ph.D. or M.D. and residency within the state of California (although work can be done remotely within California). Please also note that eligibility is dependent on completion of the relevant state civil service exam for Research Scientist IV (Epidemiology/Biostatistics).
