Identification of biomarkers predictive of disease progression during Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections
This Wellcome Trust funded post (Research Assistant with the option to undertake a PhD) is part of a multi-disciplinary collaboration (together with researchers at the University of Bristol, Trinity College Dublin and University College Cork) aiming to define the critical host - pathogen interactions that affect patient outcome during Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections. The main purpose of this job is to support the team of computational biologists, immunologists and microbiologists with the analysis of high-dimensional datasets and the development of statistical and computational pipelines to identify biomarkers predictive of bacterial phenotype and/or infection outcome. This post would therefore suit someone with a solid background in data analysis, especially in the field of biology, knowledge of high-throughput methodologies, and a keen interest in cross-disciplinary work. UK home level PhD fees are available for the duration of the project (3.5 years).
