Health economist looking at malaria elimination cost efficacy
The Wellcome Trust - Mahidol University - Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Programme (MORU) is seeking a Health Economist based in Oxford at the Peter Medawar building with periodic visits to the MORU Bangkok office.
The project aims to conduct research to improve the health and reduce the infectious diseases burden of rural communities in Asia and elsewhere in the developing world. The AToME (Analytical Tools for Malaria Elimination) group is embedded in the Mathematical and Economic Modelling (MAEMOD) department at the Mahidol-Oxford Research Unit (MORU) and is currently entirely dedicated to the ENDGAME project, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
The successful applicant will be responsible for generating and analysing malaria interventions cost data; update and develop new easily scalable cost functions; perform cost effectiveness analyses of different combinations of Plasmodium falciparum malaria interventions. Their work will be directly reported to National Malaria Control Programmes in the GMS and thus have a chance to have an immediate public health impact.
