Fully funded PhD project that aims to analyze how global and local connections and networks impact the spread of an infectious disease.

Professor John Kelleher and Dr. Elizabeth Hunter are seeking PhD candidates to work with them on a fully funded project that focuses on computational modelling of infectious disease dynamics at TU Dublin, Ireland . Using computational modelling, the project aims to analyze how global and local connections and networks impact the spread of an infectious disease. The project will combine a number of methodologies such as network analysis, agent-based modelling, machine learning, and mathematical modelling. One potential focus of the project is on transportation networks and the importance of understanding how networks at different scales (town, country, global) impact the spread of an infectious disease with a particular focus on the susceptibility of Ireland. Applicants should have a 2.1 Hons BSc or international equivalent in computer science, mathematics or similar discipline. Deadline for applications is November 1, 2022.
