University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health
Assistant or Associate Professor in Residence of Environmental Health Sciences
The School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks to recruit a faculty member in Environmental Health Sciences, with a potential start date of July 1, 2018. We seek candidates who have demonstrated excellence, originality and productivity in research, and have an interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching. We are particularly interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching, research, and service. Applications from exceptional candidates in all areas of Environmental Health will be considered. Areas of particular interest include: global environmental health with emphasis on innovative interventions to reduce environmental exposures; exposure science with emphasis on the development of sensors, statistical approaches and new technologies to assess multiple simultaneous environmental exposures and biological responses; the role of disparities in environmental exposures in determining the health of vulnerable populations in California, the US and globally; studies that advance our understanding of the broad set of environmental exposures that jointly shape risk, i.e., the exposome, with attention to variation in susceptibility, the biologic pathways from exposure to disease and causal mediators; research on the interactions between genetics and environmental exposures; interactions between the environment and infectious diseases; and field and epidemiologic research that advances new technologies for studying relationships between environmental change and health.
