The PhD project aims to evaluate the cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness of out-of-hours care by general practitioners and the organisation of nursing teams in acute hospitals. Both settings face large challenges, stressed even more by the COVID-19 pandemic. The core of your PhD consists of obtaining cost data and analyse them together with clinical outcome and health care resource data. You will benefit from ongoing data collection within iCAREdata and the “Balancing Nursing Teams” computer-assisted decision support. Different perspectives will be adopted (patient, public healthcare payer, hospital) to inform the decision-making process in the interdisciplinary field of public health.
