Epidemiologist (research assistant, 12 months with possibility of extension). Epi reviews of hantavirus and Q fever for outbreak vaccine trials
The Epidemic Diseases Research Group Oxford (ERGO) is seeking to recruit an epidemiologist at research assistant grade (12 months with the possibility of extension).
Vaccine efficacy trials for epidemic and emerging infectious diseases are challenging to design and implement. ERGO is part of a research collaboration applying infectious disease epidemiology to vaccine trial design. The job will involve undertaking epidemiological reviews of priority outbreak diseases focussing on features of relevance to vaccine trial design, as part of a project called Vaccine Efficacy Evaluation of Priority Emerging Diseases (VEEPED). The diseases to be examined are likely to be hantavirus and Q fever (Coxiella burnetii) which are UK Vaccine Network priority diseases. The work would also include the scoping of target product profiles (TPPs) for vaccines against the diseases.
