Epidemiologist/Infectious Disease Modeler for CA COVID-19 Response Modeling and Advanced Analytics Group
The purpose of the CA COVID-19 Response Modeling and Advanced Analytics Group within the Surveillance and Modeling Section of COVID-19 California Department of Public Health (CDPH) response is to inform high-profile, high-impact public health orders and policies including: institution of stay-at-home orders in the early pandemic period, regional stay-at-home orders based on intensive care unit capacity, emerging variants, statewide mask mandates, metrics for the Blueprint for a Safer Economy including the nation’s first health equity metric, and support planning for vaccine allocation and distribution.
The Infectious Disease Modeler works under the administrative direction of the Modeling Team Lead and the Chief of the Epidemiology, Surveillance and Modeling Section, COVID-19 Response as part of the Science Branch. The Infectious Disease Modeler is responsible for developing various epidemiologic models (both static and transmission dynamic) and supervising other staff in the development of COVID-19 specific infectious disease models.
