Economic evaluation specialist (60 - 100%)
The research associate or post-doctoral fellow will support a range of research activities and projects assessing costs and model-based cost-effectiveness of strategies to control infectious diseases (sleeping sickness, typhoid fever, and TB).
To best fit the requirements of the position, we expect the following qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD (preferable) in either Health Economics or Epidemiology with a strong quantitative focus or Applied Statistics
- Demonstrated interest in, and experience with, transmission modelling of infectious diseases and simulation-based, probabilistic cost-effectiveness analysis of health interventions. On-the-ground experience with costing interventions is a plus.
- Advanced programming skills in at least one of the following is necessary: R, Matlab, or python
- Experience with documentation as well as experience or willingness to learn git version control
- Excellent command of English (speaking and writing)
- Good communication skills, strong spirit of team work and initiative, and ability to work with professionals in a multi-cultural context necessary
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team necessary as well as ability to be self-directed and self-organize to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
